Able, Gifted and Talented

With a small pupil-to-teacher ratio, Milton Abbey is perfectly suited to support and guide pupils who have been identified as particularly Able, Gifted or Talented.

Pupils are identified by the use of School data as well as teacher or tutor nominations. They may have demonstrated a high level of ability in academic subject areas, a talent for Art, Music, Drama, Design, ICT or Sports, or shown potential as a leader.

In classes, pupils identified as Able, Gifted or Talented are challenged to complete tasks demanding higher-level cognitive skills and encouraged to take on more complex and open-ended problems.

Outside the classroom, pupils benefit from additional trips to conferences and seminars, mentoring from subject experts or activity leaders, and the motivation of extended projects and competitions.
