Football Programme

Sport Everyday

Milton Abbey School offers a Football Programme renowned for providing top-tier football training. This unique programme is delivered in collaboration with FA-accredited coaches from Champion Sports Group, who run an academy on-site.

Football at Milton Abbey is available year round, with competitive teams enjoying a full fixture schedule.

These teams compete against local schools and participate in national tournaments, offering students a wide range of opportunities to showcase their skills. We are fortunate to have exceptional pitches that foster a playing style focused on passing football. These facilities are so well-regarded that they serve as a training ground for professional and international teams during school holidays.

Every session we run is build around our Four Pillars to Success:

  1. Tactical Understanding – Developing individual strengths and weaknesses, decision-making, and game habits.
  2. Technical Skills – Mastery of core football abilities such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control.
  3. Physical Attributes – Strength training, SAQ, and football-specific endurance, especially during pre-season.
  4. Lifestyle – Nutrition, recovery, and time management to support overall performance.

Girls’ Football

In the Summer Term of 2025, Milton Abbey School proudly launched its very first girls’ football team, a landmark moment in our sporting history and a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and opportunity for all.

In partnership with Champion Sports Group, our students now benefit from expert coaching and weekly fixtures against other competitive schools. For many of the girls, this was their first experience playing football and they embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, energy, and team spirit.

This initiative reflects what Milton Abbey is all about: encouraging students to step outside their comfort zones, discover new passions, and grow in confidence through sport and teamwork.
