Cross-Country

Years 6-8

Students in Years 6 to 8 are invited to join our annual cross-country challenge, offering an exciting run across our inspiring grounds.

Each school can enter a team of up to four runners per race, which means there is an opportunity for all keen runners to get involved!

Last year we had the pleasure of welcoming over 100 runners from eight schools to Milton Abbey for our annual Prep Cross-Country event!

Movie and Media Day

Year 8

Students in Year 8 are invited to join our exciting, hands-on day for prospective third form students for September 2026. They will spend the day exploring the creative courses on offer at Milton Abbey School.

Highlights for the day include:

– Learn how to plan and ‘storyboard’ a film shoot

– Grab one of our cameras and make your film idea a reality!

– Use industry-level software to edit your film, adding audio and visual effects

– Explore how content is created for different channels: whether in the cinema, on TV or online

Farm Friday

Years 5-6

Students in Years 5 and 6 are invited to enjoy a fun filled day with our Countryside Management Team. Activities will include taking our Shetland ponies for a walk, learning to care for our farm animals, planting seeds, spending time brushing and feeding our playful goats and Alpaca, and so much more!

This is a unique opportunity to carry out a range of exciting activities on our School Farm and Stables. We are inviting students who are currently Year 5 or Year 6 to come and enjoy a day with our Countryside Management Team.

Activities will include:

-Taking our Shetland ponies for a walk, after giving them a brush and comb

-Meeting our farm animals and learning about how we care for them

-Walking the goats and meeting Oswald our Alpaca

-Helping to maintain our fruit and vegetable areas

-Practical conservation work using hand tools

-Identifying different wild animals found in and around the farm

Everyone

Open Days are open to all years of entry from age 13 and take place at least twice a year. To make the best use of your time, we can also offer Admissions Interviews on the same day for any students who are already registered.
