Making a Splash: an update from the Swimming Team

The Milton Abbey Swimming Team has had a fantastic year this far. The sport is more popular than ever with many pupils competing, developing their techniques and keeping fit.

Maria Timperley (Head Coach) and Nicola Burg (Head of Swimming) have done a fantastic job and we have seen significant improvements in the times our pupils are producing. We have introduced an elite programme of swimming which has helped further develop our gifted and talented swimmers. As a consequence we have positioned very well in a number of galas and seen our school records tumble in every event. There are certainly more exciting times ahead for Milton Abbey Swimming.

Our Third Form pupils are focusing on triathlon training this term during their timetabled PE lessons.  So far they have completed a mini cycle / run event and are currently working on transitions from the pool to the bike. The climax will be a competition between the three Third Form classes later this term. All pupils will be part of this mini triathlon – be it as an individual or relay team.
