Music Scholars attend performance by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
On Wednesday 25th January, Music Scholars, GCSE and A level Music Students were treated to an evening performance by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at the ‘Lighthouse’ in Poole. The programme included Weber’s Oberon Overture, Sibelius’ 5th Symphony and Dvo?ák’s Concerto for ‘Cello and Orchestra. The concert was broadcast live on Radio 3 and provided valuable context to parts of both the GCSE and A level syllabus as well as a welcome opportunity to relax and enjoy some food and social time. Termly visits are planned to various performances, including more of the BSO, but also trips to the West End and other styles of music. These events will be opened up to all Milton Abbey students and staff as the Milton Abbey Music Society is formed next term.
