VIRULENT STOMACH BUG - MESSAGE TO PARENTS
February 06, 2012
Dear Parents,
Re: Virulent Stomach bug
Over the past 48 hours the school has been hit by a virulent stomach bug.
As of this morning, the number of pupils affected is well over 13% of the school population and this is excluding staff (both academic and support) who have been struck down.
We have, as part of our medical protocol, sought advice through the school doctor and HPA (health protection agency). If the numbers reach a particular threshold, on their advice, the Headmaster will be forced to close the school and pupils will be returned home. Half term would therefore start immediately.
To make up for the lost teaching time, the headmaster would delay the end of term by however many days that have been lost prior to half term to ensure that any loss in teaching time is made up.
We will keep you updated during the day. This message will also be posted on the Headmaster’s blog.
Yours,
Chris Staley
