Movember
October 30, 2011
After much discussion in school council it was agreed that for the first time Milton Abbey would embrace Movember - a charity initiative designed to raise awareness of, and money for, testicular cancer. Rather than this simply being a staff initiative, all sixth form boys have been given the opportunity to grow a moustache over the month of November. We'll be having a photograph on the 1st November, and another on the 3oth November with everyone involved...which will include me, my Deputy, a number of Housemasters, and possible Barry, Joel and others from the school kitchens. I'll post the photograph here on my blog. I must admit that I'm facing the initiative with some trepidation! I have an awful feeling that I simply won't suit what Bertie Wooster affectionately describes as a soup strainer.

I'm looking forward to welcoming the pupils back tonight, and sharing with them news from half term in assembly tomorrow; trips abroad (especially Tom and Anthony who have been on the Warriors trip to South Africa), building work at the school (we're fully on schedule regarding the houses at the moment - photos can be found on the image gallery) and other work around the school, alongside being able to report a great improvement in effort grades from the new diagnostic Progress Report system. I'll post a copy of my assembly on my blog tomorrow.
