GCSE's

GCSE's

In the Fourth and Fifth Form (Year 10 and 11), Miltonians study towards their GCSE exams.

On entering the Fourth Form most pupils follow a two-year programme which leads to them taking between seven to ten GCSEs.

The core curriculum consists of English (one or two GCSEs depending on pupil’s ability), Science (two or three GCSEs depending upon pupil’s ability) Mathematics and French.

Three additional subject choices are made by pupils from the following subjects: Art, Drama, Geography, Graphics, History, Music, Photography, Religious Studies, Resistant Materials and Spanish.

Pupils can also study a BTEC qualification in either Sport or Countryside and Environment.  These choices are both broadly equivalent to two GCSEs.

In addition, all pupils will continue with studies in Divinity and PE.  Some pupils are able to study additional languages, such as their own mother tongue, outside of the timetable.

LEARNING SUPPORT

Those pupils who belong in the ‘Core’ group of Learning Support provision will not study French or Spanish at GCSE as they will have timetabled lessons in Learning Support.
