Food

All four meals of the day are taken in the splendid, panelled Abbot’s Hall, where the pupils can sit with anyone they like, around long tables. The cafeteria-style service and staggered timings mean that there is always a steady flow of people, with queues rarely building up.

We have recently reviewed all aspects of food provision, and are now sourcing as many high-quality ingredients locally as possible.

Breakfast: this will typically include cereals, toast and cooked options including bacon, egg and tomato. Also juices, milk and hot drinks.

Lunch: alongside a choice of cooked dishes, students can dip into a salad bar and also make up their own baguettes.

Tea and snacks: cake, biscuits and squash, milk and hot drinks are available at tea time every day. In addition fruit, cereal bars and other healthy snacks can be purchased from the onsite tuck shop, which is open at break, after lunch, late afternoon and at times during the weekend.

Dinner: this is hot and hearty, designed to satisfy hungry and energetic children.
