Sixth Form Careers


Post-GCSE, your sons and daughters will find themselves making bigger decisions, taking responsibility for themselves and growing in independence. We look to them to share their experience and lead and manage the younger children. The role of both school and parents at this stage is to support, encourage, respect and, at the same time, to begin to let go. In all things, we shall direct their eyes to the world beyond Milton Abbey as we prepare them to play their part in it.

Throughout the Sixth Form we encourage pupils to test their vocational inclinations by workshadowing and work experience, as well as by attending careers and university fairs.

Students are provided with the information and research skills they need to help them decide on their future path – bearing in mind that most people change their minds about their career more than once.

It is a remarkable feature of Milton Abbey that many pupils opt to work for themselves: we are proud of the spirit of enterprise shown by so many of our former pupils.
