News & Info > Behind-the-scenes hotel tour for Hospitality pupils Behind-the-scenes hotel tour for Hospitality pupils This week the School's Fifth Form Hospitality pupils went on a whistle-stop tour of The Crown Hotel in nearby Blandford to learn more about how safety and security is managed in the industry. The group were kindly welcomed by Francesca Bethell, Wedding and Events Coordinator, who led a tour around the hotel's rooms, restaurant, bar and conference suite, along with a behind-the-scenes visit to the kitchen area. The hotel staff happily answered questions and explained more about how stock control is organised and the paperwork involved in managing catering. During the visit pupils also had chance to take photographs of various warning signs and fire exits as evidence for their next assignment on health and safety in practice.
